Pros: Size, ease of use, built-in light, 3.5" screen.
Cons: Battery life but I think that is common.
The Bottom Line: Pound for pound this is a solid value for a Mini DV format palmcorder.

| bfs999's Full Review: Panasonic PV-DV402 Mini DV Camcorder |
This unit is the first camcorder that I have ever purchased so not much to compare against, but as a rookie, this palmcorder is easy to use and seems to be of the highest quality. Lots of features for the money. The advanced features will take some time to learn, but the basics, even the manual settings, were easy to understand and use. So far I am pleased with the unit.
I bought this camera because my wife just had our first child. This unit was rated #2 by Consumer Reports, just barely behind a Sony that was much more expensive when I shopped around. Plus the Sony did not have the built in light. The Panasonic uses the SD memory card, which I already owned, as opposed to the Sony, which requires their own proprietary Memory Stick, which would have meant extra $$.
