Pros: Portability, Doubles as a second home unit.
Cons: Battery life. The hell I went thru to get it :)
The Bottom Line: So in closing, this toy is for anyone who is an electronics fiend, or anyone who wants a dvd player for their house, plus the added bonus of its portability.

| oppie1's Full Review: Panasonic DVD-LV50 5 in. Portable DVD Player |
I bought this item as an impulse. I really didn't know what I would do with it once i got it, other then the fact for bragging rights. iGo.com had it on clearance for 479.99, so I said "what the heck, I'll pick on up" (March 13,2001). Once I finally get it, it was received defective. iGo would not take it back as it was a clearance item. *RANT* iGo.com SUCKS!!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM. Anywho, after waiting 2 weeks for a new optical pickup to be installed by Panasonic Factory Service Center, I finally get a working device today (April 5, 2001). After letting the battery fully charge, I finally get to play with it. I popped in The Matrix to watch a few scenes. I must say the picture is very sharp and crisp looking, but the sound has alot to be desired. Luckily I picked up a nice pair of Sony Noise Canceling headphones and turn on the VSS (Virtual Surround Sound) and it was like being in a theater. So after testing the dvd playback, I decide to pop in my Phantom Menace vcd. The picture was nice and clear and so was the sound. Still having problems having my dvd player read cdr and cdr-w vcds. I don't know if i did the encoding wrong, or if it just cant read a cdr/cdr-w disc.
