| bydabay's Full Review: Panasonic DVD-LV50 5 in. Portable DVD Player |
I have been using this DVD player for just over a year and I have yet to have a complaint about it. In fact, I love it more every time I use it.
The player has a very portable size, just a touch thicker than a CD player. If you get a larger carrying case, then it easily fits and is well protected when moved around.
The battery lasts a good three hours. You can get through a full movie and a little bit more. The batteries are over a hundred dollars to replace, and that bothers me a bit. I haven't had a problem with my battery yet and I'm not looking forward to replacing it, but they are readily available. If you remember the cord, you can plug it in at the airport and not waste the three-hour battery reserve while waiting for the plane to arrive. It takes about six hours to recharge the battery. When it is recharging, you cannot use the player which is not the best setup either.
The picture is really high quality. There are three settings (for widescreen, standard, etc.) which are easy to flip between. The colors are vibrant and the picture is incredibly clear. When I travel, I prefer to use closed captioning than ear phones mainly because it allows more than one person to watch the movie at the same time.
The player hooks to a standard television by way of cables that are included. It makes a perfect DVD player and the picture comes out well on the TV as long as it is directly connected to the television and not through a second source, like a VCR.
Truly a great deal and with the prices dropping, an economical way to enjoy yourself whether at home or traveling.
