| clintob1's Full Review: Panasonic DVD-LV50 5 in. Portable DVD Player |
I have owned the Panasonic DVD-L50 for five months now, and I really enjoyed it at first, but now my opinion has changed a bit. When I first bought the portable dvd player I just thought, How cool is this? I mean I could watch a movie while driving (not recommended!) or while on a plane flight. I could also hook it up to t.v. at a hotel room (with proper connections) and at home. With the dolby digital 5.1 and dts formats compatible this thing was awesome. Soon the mood changed from awesome to it's kinda cool.
I lost my coaxial and composite (don't use much) cables, and replaced them with what I thought were the same cables. Well come to find out that the Panasonic cables were different because the ends that plugged into the dvd player were different from the ends that plug into the t.v. or receiver. So I had to specially order my coaxial and composite cables from Panasonic, which cost a little bit of money, I think 30 dollars altogether. Another thing about the Panasonic DVD-L50 that just became a hassle was the battery. Sure a 3 hour battery is good for a movie, but that is about it 1 movie and maybe half of another before the battery needs recharging. Maybe I am just to picky about things like that!
Anyway, the Panasonic L-50 is a fun little gadget good for killing time, but it does has some flaws. Was it worth the investment? I think so, there are some things in my opinion that could have been better, but aren't all that necessary to enjoy it.
