Pros: Excellent price for a full featured Dolby Digital unit!
Cons: Remote is a bit small and weak in design. Not for big fingers.
The Bottom Line: The only thing preventing me from giving this 5 stars is the remote. Great sound with sufficient power!

I know that this receiver was rated as a best buy on many consumer sites and magazines so there isn't much to add. However, for those out there going back and forth between a few brands in this price range let me tell you one thing. THIS IS THE RECEIVER TO GET!
I have used JVC, SONY, YAMAHA (more expensive) and this Panasonic is top notch for the price you pay. 5.1 Dolby digital and DTS is outstandingly clear and crisp. I have digital products (cable and DVD) plugged in to take full advantage of the digital audio experience, but I also have a few items plugged in to take advantage of the Pro Logic ll. It really makes your VCR or regular Television sound fantastic with many ways to tweak the sound for you audiophiles on a budget. It has full settings for your main speakers, center, surrounds and sub including size, distance, and more! If you can, you should take advantage of the optical in's (2) and coaxial in's (1). If you need to plug in more there are 5 rca stereo in's as well.
I rarely use my tuner but it works wonderfully as well and can accept up to 38 presets with very quick access.
I also dont often use the DSP modes but if you are into it there is Hall, Club, Live, Theatre and simulated surround. You should also note that these effects are customizable - tone them down a tad for much clearer sound.
All in all this is a fantastic buy and an excellent way to get a quality Home Theatre receiver with a Dolby Digital decoder all for a very reasonable price. DONT be scared by the brand name written on the front of this reciever - Panasonic will surprise you!
