| timebomb85's Full Review: Panasonic SC-AK100 CD Shelf System |
First of all, the sound on this stereo is Amazing! This stereo actually sounds more like 220 watts Instead of 100! It has 2 way speakers and the sound is excellent. There is a lot of bass (not overpowering) and there is a good amount of treble. There are also 4 equalizer modes on it. They are Heavy, Sof, Clear, and vocal. There is also a mode on it called Super Sound Eq. That is for boosting the low and high frequincys (bass and treble.) I think it sounds the best when it is on. It makes your music sound the best. So the sound on this stereo is great.
The design on this stereo is also cool. The unit itself is black and the speakers are also black. The display on the stereo is very cool. It has a multi color display with a spectrum Analyzer (like an equalizer) and also the display on this stereo is very easy to read from across the room, and you can also dim the display if it is too bright. The only problem with this stereo is that the cd changer is very loud and noisy. It actually takes about 10 seconds to switch discs (not a big deal.) But it still works good. The reason it is a little faster but it takes up more is kind of slow is because it is a Elevator Loading Cd Changer instead of a Carosel. A carosel space than a Elevator loading system, So that is a good thing about having the elevator loading cd changer. So be paient when you change discs
The ease of use on this stereo is very good. The system is very easy to learn how to use. Most of the functions are controlled by the remote so PLEASE DO NOT LOSE THE REMOTE! The remote contols functions that are not on the system are setting the clock, sleep timer, presets, changing it to All-Disc Mode, 1-Disc, and a few other features can only be accessed with the remote. Other than that it is easy to learn how to use this stereo, and the manual is very well written.
The durability seems to be pretty good, it is not sturdy enough to drop it (although I do not think you can drop any stereo, and I would not reccomend that you try it!) Even the buttons on this stereo are good, They do not feel cheap or that they will get stuck or anything. The unit is made out of metal, and is not plasicy like other brands such as Magnavox, Audiovox, Venturer, Audiophase, Curtis, RCA, and many other cheaper brands.
I am very picky when it comes to how well things are made and how good the sound quality is and this is definitly the best System for the Money. The radio works pretty good, the 2 feather touch casette decks are great and have great recording quality, and the 5 disc cd changer is excellent. Also this stereo is very good with electricity when the unit is in standby mode. I use this syetem every single day for quite a few hours and this system never gave me a problem, although when you have it on loud I mean real loud for a long time the system gets pretty warm, and the bottom gets very warm so I reccomend that you do not put the unit on a carpet, bed or any other thing that absorbs heat. So I highly reccomend this system to anyone who wants a really good stereo for a great value
Thanks for reading my review
