The Bottom Line: Great player, great price. Not much more you can ask for.

I received this as a gift when I entered grad school. It's perfect for my apartment (small close confined space) with a very full and strong sound. In this review I will try not to get into the specs (you can just read that from the site) but try to give a try opinion on the product itself.
MP3 playback
This is weird to explain. There is a slow initial loading time (when switching from one disc to another, or when turning on the player) but after that, everything loads up right away. Another thing that is weird, is that some mp3s just will not play on the player, and I am not certain for the cause of this, however this is a small percentage (4 out of 175 songs). The fact that you can put in 5 discs containing mp3s is just great. It's an amazing amount of songs. One annoying thing about the mp3 playback is that you can't jump between folders. So you actually have to sift through a bunch of songs to get to the one you like (although the mp3 player does allow you to directly jump to the song that you want to listen to)
Sound
The sound is very impressive. It has a strong bass and not so strong where you can't hear anything else. Sadly, the sound is not so strong where you can feel the bass when you watch movies. I connected the mini system to my TV and wasn't very impressed with the sound while watching my dvds. So basically this player is only good for listening to music in small spaces (my living room in my apartment is roughly around 20 ft by 20 ft by 8ft.
Tape deck and Radio
Ok I don't really use this. In fact I haven't even touched the tape deck since I bought it. The FM does have good reception though, but to be honest, I really don't care about it. Why would you want to listen to anything else when you already have 800 songs in the player that you like?
Remote Control
Easy to use remote control. Not to fancy, does the job well. Nothing much more to say about this
