Makes a nice ornament on the shelf...useless otherwise.

Pros: Small size, precision engineering. Separate clamshell waterproof case with belt clip for runners.
Cons: It doesn't work.
The Bottom Line: The bottom line is that it does NOT work as sold. Panasonic is displaying an arrogance and disregard for the customer on a scale I have rarely experienced.

| kamikaze2's Full Review: Panasonic E-Wear SV-SD80 (64 MB) MP3 Player |
My expectations for a $250 MP3 player are high and this certainly LOOKS worth it, but it simply does not work. So my opinion is influenced by that plus the stunning lack of customer support (or giving a damn).
First thing I had to do was download software to get it to work. The Real software packaged with the SD-80 doesn't work so you need to download RealOne. But, after that, I did manage to get a couple of memory chips loaded with my MP3 files. That was the last time the transfer process ever worked. Tried it on my XP platfrom at home, my 2000 platform at work and my notebook running 98. It simply does not work.
What really infuriated me was that, when I explained the problem to the Panasonic tech, the first words out of his mouth were to tell me "It's not our problem, check with Real". Real of course has yet to reply to either my emails or calls. So, it is a $225 Catch 22. Ralph Nader, where are you?!
