We purchased this 42" Panasonic two years ago after researching through various sites (Consumer Reports, Epinions, etc.). There was not one word about the problem we are having.

This morning the set would not turn on and we got seven blinking red lights. We researched the issue and found lots of other consumers with the same problem. Apparently there is a power supply failure due to defective parts. I called the company and they were no help at all, in fact a man in the parts department said the technology is only good for three years and we would be better off with a new television. The warranty is only good for one year and even then there is a waiting list for the parts. A local repair man quoted us $300 to $600 as an average cost to repair this problem and said the code is not always correct. He said he refuses to sell Panasonics because they do not stand behind their product.
There should have a been a recall on this since Panasonic is well aware of the problem. This was a very expensive purchase for us and I will not be buying another Panasonic. They can keep their product and their bad customer service.
