This model has a recall issued against it for the 7 blinking LED problem. I bought mine 2 years ago and experienced the problem yesterday (so maybe the recall is only for the older serial numbers). It died while I was watching it and the power LED started blinking 7 times. I called Panasonic today and they said that since there is a recall for this unit for this particular defect, it doesn't matter how long ago I bought it. They are having someone come out to fix it in two days, free of charge.

I have seen a lot of year old posts detailing how Panasonic wouldn't fix the issue, but I just wanted to tell people who are experiencing the issue now to call Panasonic's customer support line and they can be helped. Maybe all that complaining on the internet was actually heard.
I don't know if it's a contributing factor, but I also never upgraded the FW on the TV. I didn't know it had a FW upgrade available until I went to their website looking for help: http://www.panasonic.com/announce/updatemytv/info.html
