hwz1's Full Review: Panasonic ER 411NC Nasal/Ear Trimmer
Are you one of those people who suffers from nose hair that grows like weeds on steroids? Perhaps your ear hair, sprouts grows like it just dropped two doses of Viagra. Or, maybe you know someone who suffers from either problem. What do you do about it?
In my case (I can braid my nose hairs and grow dreadlocks from my ears.), I spent the past decade or so using a pair of blunt ended scissors to clip the unsightly nose hairs. Yes, that was their sole purpose and, yes, I would occasionally take out a chunk of nose hair, err skin/membrane/muscle.
One day I got smart and thought that there has to be a better way to do this. An easier way, a less dangerous way, and a quicker way. Thankfully, I was right.
I went to the store and consulted with a pimply 18 year old about which nose hair trimmer was the best they had available. After inspecting his nose for stray hairs and finding none, he convinced me that the Panasonic ER411NC was the way to go.
The thing works like this: Insert a single AA battery (Supposedly a 90 minute running time and I gotta tell ya, if it takes you 90 minutes to get rid of your nose hair you might want to consider calling Guinness book and having them measure.), and turn it on. Them aim the end toward you nose and insert it. You will hear it cutting the hairs and cleaning out your nose. Fun stuff!
A few things to keep in mind. First of all, you may want to do this over the sink or garbage can as there will be stuff flying out of your nose and you probably do not want to have shaved nose hairs sitting on the counter for your wife to find. Secondly, I would suggest blowing your nose or patting it down after deforesting. You will be able to get all the stray hairs that did not fall out. Believe me, this is important. I doubt you want to go to work or to a fancy dinner with used nose hairs affixed to your upper lip.
A few final thoughts to consider before making a purchase. The ER411NC is a very quiet tool considering what it is employed to do. I use mine in the bathroom that adjoins our master bedroom and never wake my fiance up. The trimmer can be used wet or dry, though I am not sure what they mean by this. I rarely wet the inside of my nose. Finally, the trimming is done with zero pain or flinching.
I would highly recommend the Panasonic Er411NC for anyone with a problem with nose or ear hair. Heck, with the holidays fast approaching, you might even get grandpa one for Christmas. I am sure he will get more use out of it than he would a tie and he will look much better. I am even considering purchasing one for each of my groomsmen as the gift to the groomsmen. I am sure they will thank me dearly. Ok, maybe not. But their wives surely will.
You can pick one of these up on amazon.com for around $17.50 versus the $30 price tag you will find in retail stores. However, be sure you get a new one from Amazon. Last I checked, they had a few used ones for sale.
