technoasis's Full Review: Pantene Color Revival Conditioner
This week I'm blonde, after a month as a redhead. Before that my hair has been every hue found in nature and more than a couple that aren't. Whenever I have a few minutes to myself I seem to dye my hair and the result is damage, frizz and brittleness.
I'm willing to give any product a chance at rescuing my tress-mess, especially one that promises "luminous, healthy color" and "shimmer, shine and suppleness" like Pantene Pro-V Color Revival Conditioner.
Ingredients
Color Revival contains quite a few silicone-derivatives (dimethicone, benzophenone-3, methylchloroisothiazolinone and methylisothiazolinone) which can, over time, be damaging since they coat rather than penetrate the hair. Fortunately, the formula also includes a large number of organic alcohols and conditioners.
Day 1
After washing my hair with the Color Revival shampoo, I applied the conditioner as instructed on the bottle: beginning at the ends, gently working upward and combing through with my fingers. Because the bottle opens on the bottom, the conditioner dispensed easily despite its very rich, thick, creamy texture. The light floral fragrance was pleasant but not overpowering.
Once I had worked the conditioner completely through my hair, I rinsed thoroughly. While still in the shower I noticed that my hair's texture had greatly improved -- it was silkier and easier to work my fingers through. The conditioner rinsed out easily and didn't leave a strong scent.
Combing through my wet hair was easy. There wasn't a single tangle to contend with. Even after my hair dried I was pleased with the results. There was definitely an improvement in my hair's luster and manageability. Color Revival even passed the ultimate test; my super-allergic husband didn't sneeze!
After 2 Weeks
After the first several applications, Color Revival lost a little of its ability to make me go through the day stroking my own hair in amazement. However, after a one-day hiatus with a buildup removing shampoo, the Pantene line worked better than ever.
