| beena500's Full Review: Pantene Pro V Intensive Restoration Treatment |
Good day everyone! You know that feeling when you suddenly realize that you blow dry and straighten your hair too much? You know what I'm talking about, the dryness, broken ends and overall lack of luster that just wrecks your day.
Well, I just realized that about six months ago. Let me fill you in.
For about, oh let's say two years, I have been blow drying my hair five out of six days. And this year I have discovered the sleek coolness of hair straighteners, so in addition of blow drying, I also straighten my hair. Of course this leads to trouble. And this is where Pantene Pro-V Intensive Restoration Treatment comes in!
The Product:
Pantene Pro-V Intensive Restor - argh!! This title is too long, and will now be shortened to PPIRT. Anyway PPIRT comes in a seven inch tall, pearly white, flexible plastic tube. It stands on its cap and has the title and logo on the front.
The conditioner itself is thick and creamy. It has the clean, fresh smell of Pantene and you get a generous 6.8 fl oz or 200 ml amount.
Claims:
On the front it says it will "Repair and Protect. Reconstructs damage hair" On the back "Repairs roughened cuticles to restore silkiness and shine. Enriched Pro-Vitamin formula helps prevent split ends, breakage and frizz. Deeply penetrates to seal in moisture for hair that is manageable...shiny...protected."
Directions:
After shampooing, apply liberally to hair, focusing on ends and other damage-prone areas. Leave on 3-5 minutes, depending on level of dryness or damage of hair. Rinse out with warm water. For extra shine, follow ith a cool water rinse. Use once a week or as often as needed. Safe with chemically or color-treated hair. For best results, use with Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo and Daily Moisture Renewal Conditioner.
Ingredients:
Water, Stearyl Alcohol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Dimethicone, Glutamic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Panthenol, Panthenyl Ethyl Ether, Fragrance, EDTA, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazoline. (Yes they are acutal words, I did not just randomly press keys.)
The Pros:
I remember when I realized my hair needed help. It was a humid day, and I had stepped outside to walk to my friend's house. And she said, "Oh my god, your hair is so frizzy!" ACK! My hair? NO!! But, alas, it was true.
Then another memory: I was taking a test, and I absently ran my hand over my hair. My fingers were met with rough, dry hair mixed into it were curious little frizzed-up strands that curled into twisted little shapes.
This was not cool. I had to buy something! So came in PPIRT. I use Suave products every day, and once a week I bust out the PPIRT.
After, my hair was PERFECT. Not shiny, but GLOSSY. Not just soft and smooth, but it hung as if the world's best hair dresser just finished with me. I do not exagerate. After I use this, its as if I donned a wig of pure silk.
Not only does my hair NOT frizz anymore, but isn't damaged after I use the blow dryer and straightener.
The Cons:
The tube is too small, I want to pour this into my hair, rather than frugally smooth it on.
My Hair Type: Shoulder length, medium texture, straight. I do not use product prior to, or post blow drying and straightening.
