Pros: Excellent shampoo for oily-haired people like me.
Cons: New bottle cap design is pretty, but unwieldy and impractical.
Pantene Sheer Volume shampoo has been my one and only shampoo for many years! It's the only one that can conquer the oil in my hair without leaving it feeling like straw.
Recently Pantene changed the bottle top, which I'm not crazy about. But as long as the product keeps performing, I can live with it!
Pantene is a rich, thick, clear and color-free liquid that lathers well and rinses clean. It also has a mild scent, unlike some shampoos that leave you feeling like your hair attended a luau without you!
Simply put, Pantene gives oily-heads like mine reliable results!
But there's that bottle top issue. I buy the giant-size bottle of shampoo, and every few months it used to come packaged with a pump dispenser rather than a press-to-open top. I always saved the pump dispenser and put it on the new bottle when the old one ran out.
But now that's impossible, as the new bottles come with a strange, oval cap that doesn't unscrew. You have to twist it sideways and pry it up, and the old pump dispenser won't fit on it.
But since it's a giant-size bottle and hands are wet, it's nearly impossible to lift when it's full, let alone turn it over one-handed to dispense and still keep your grip!
So what I've been doing is saving my last Pantene bottle that the pump fits and pouring the shampoo into it.
I suppose this is absolute proof that I love the shampoo - who would go through all that for a shampoo they barely tolerate!
I'm just hoping that Pantene goes back to the screw-on top and reusable pump dispenser bottle. Sure, the new oval top looks classy, but since it's in the shower, who's going to be impressed by its looks!
