Add Some Color To Your World With PaperMate's Felt Tip Twelve Pack

Written: Apr 04 '08
Pros:Nice color assortment, easy to write with, strong and durable, inexpensive.
Cons:No keep case, easy to recap with the wrong color cap.
The Bottom Line: Kick things up a notch with PaperMate's colorful 12 felt tip marker set.

PaperMate Flair felt tip pens are a really nice thing to have around if you like to write with markers but don’t want to have to deal with a fat tip. These are well made and as long as you recap them after you use them you shouldn't have any problems with them drying out. These can be used on almost any type of paper except glossy or photographic because the ink has nothing to adhere to. They are different from permanent markers in the regard but do offer you great coverage, exciting colors and don't cost as much as other marker sets. It's all backed with the PaperMate guarantee that you will be satisfied with your purchase or they will issue you a refund for the price paid.

PaperMate 12 Color Felt Tip Marker Set

If you like felt tip pens then surely you have tried one of the sixteen colors that PaperMate offers, if not, what are you waiting for! What I love most about them is that they are easy to write with. You do have to worry about the ink seeping through loose leaf paper and thinner sheets but these are great for writing out greeting cards, addressing envelopes or just doodling on a desk pad when you are sitting on hold. The barrels are well made and reflect the color ink inside them so even if you recap with the wrong one, you will still know what the color is by looking at the barrel. These are the same exact felt tip pens that PaperMate sells individually but when you by them in the twelve pack you are getting a nice price break and a whole lot of color to work with.

These are also a great felt tip marker for kids to work with since they are a little thinner than kid and teen themed markers like the Color Wave from Crayola. Some kids like thicker chunky style markers, some like something thinner and easier to hold. The ink is a little harder to get off of skin and clothing but sometimes you have to take the good with the potentially bad. I really like coloring with them and so does Annabelle but everyone in the house makes use of them. They are great for writing notes, leaving messages, making sure someone sees a note that is written in large red letters and just about anything else you would do with a normal marker.

The color assortment in this twelve pack is nice and gives you a lot of option when doodling, coloring or even doing something silly like using a stained glass coloring book. The colors are: black red, green, purple, yellow, tangerine, blue, sky blue, lime, lilac, pink and magenta. If these colors aren't enough for you, PaperMate also has four other colors to choose from; plum, marigold, olive and navy blue. The colors work well together but you will want to avoid overlapping them if at all possible as the lighter colors will pick up the darker colors and you will have to clean the tip.

Individually the markers cost about .89 cents if you get them at an office supply store, the twelve pack sells for about $4.50 so you can see that you are saving a lot of money, The only time I would tell someone not to get this set is if they didn't need or plan on using all of the colors in the set. If you just use black and red then get them individually so you don't end up with markers cluttering up your workspace or desk. These shouldn't be confused with other marker and pet sets from PaperMate like the Liquid Expresso; they might look a little bit alike but they are completely different products. The Flair does have a unique look to it but with so many new products coming out it is hard to keep track of them.

The Bottom Line

The only time I have ever had a problem with a Flair is when it was dropped and the wheel of a chair rolled over it and cracked it. Since there is a long stem inside the marker barrel that retains the ink it didn't leak but when I went to use it again it was completely dried up. The same thing can happen if you don't recap them after using them. The twelve color set offers you a lot of cool hues to play around with and considering the price it is a lot more affordable than buying them individually. If you do need some extra color you can always get the above mentioned extra ones at larger office supply stores that carry the PaperMate Flair line.

As always, thanks for the visit…
