Pros: All inclusive resort with a relaxing atmosphere with everything one could ask for.
Cons: Too much smoke in the disco and lobby bar area.
The Bottom Line: This is a wonderful resort for escaping this terrible winter at a reasonable price for what the place offers.

I must thank my epinions colleague - leahengland - for her review of this all inclusive, relaxing resort. My husband and I were over-stressed and needed a place to escape to. Once a year we go to Expedia.com and play roulette with where we are going to go.We narrowed our choices down to Barbados or this Mexican resort. After reading her review we made up our minds - we booked on Sunday afternoon and left on Monday morning.
This resort in Puerto Morales is 15 minutes from the Cancun airport - south of the city of Cancun. The best thing about this place is that there are no other hotels around, even when you walk a long distance from the hotel so it is quiet and uncrowded. (Although there is another hotel being built right next door that will be ready in another year. It is all-inclusive except for the transportation to and from the airport ( $15/person in a van or $45 for a cab which holds four). There is a choice of six very good restaurants on the premises - Capri (Mediterranean), Sumire (Japanese). L'Hermitage (French),The Reef Grill (steakhouse),Tequila Grill and the Caribbean Market. We got to eat outside on a floating hut on the surrounding pond in the Japanese restaurant (how romantic)! In between meals there is always the open stand for hot dogs, burgers, nachos, guacamole and pico de gallo.
Drinks are ever-flowing ( we like the Banana Monkey and Cabana best. There is a pool bar and a beautiful wooden bar in the lobby with a cigar stand.
Activities are bountiful. Everyday at 10:30 there is a stretch class, then at noon there is aqua-aerobics (which I loved) and at 4 a dance class and at 4:30 , yoga or Tae-bo.
The sand is like powder and we spent so much time walking on the beach - not many shells but lots of sea glass. Any large shells, i.e, conch have to be put back as this area is part of a national reef park. There are sailboats and hobies to use, and you are entitled to a free snorkel or dive that they will sail you to. There is a different kind of show every night - (although I thought they were a bit amateurish , everyone tried very hard to entertain us. The staff has no attitude except to make your stay a happy one. There even is a day care center babysitting service where all the parents claimed their children were well taken care of and had wonderful and appropriate activities.
We had a junior suite which was 500 sq. feet with a balcony facing a garden view. It was airy and comfortable - great bed. A marble soaking tub and the room's floors were all marble as well. All electricity shuts off when you leave and turns on when you enter. Bathrobes were provided as were very large towels.
Even though there were quite a few people there and some business meetings, we never felt crowded. You can also opt for Royal Service which means a room with a jacuzzi on your balcony facing the ocean ( there are 100 of these rooms) and you can stay at the Quiet(Adults Only ) pool. This area has thatched huts with mattresses and large pillows.
You will be amazed by the beauty of the lobby which actually has a very Polynesian look but it is very serene. At night you can sit in the beautiful lounge area and listen to live music nightly at 8:30 in the over- stuffed couches and/or chaises and have a drink.
We were so relaxed that we only took a side trip to Playa del Carmen ($25 taxi ride/way). There is also Tulum - Mayan ruins, Xel-Ha snorkeling, and Xcaret (Ecological park)We never went to Cancun because how touristy and Americanized and over-crowded it is.
So, when you want to just fly away and escape - this is definitely the place.
