The Park Inn is the second hotel I have stayed at across from Disneyland, and I can assure you it will be the only hotel I stay at near Disneyland from here on out.
The Good. I was impressed with the Park Inn from the moment I walked in the door...at about 7:30PM on my arrival day. The staff was super nice, and there were no problems with our reservations. While at the front desk, we asked about Disneyland tickets, which they sell as well, and were told that it was cheaper to buy them at the gate. [Note : Turns out it was cheaper to buy them at the hotel, which we did, but I was impressed with their desire to get us the lowest prices.]
After we checked in, we headed to our room...at the very end of the hotel...right near the stairs. With a two year old, this was quite a walk. But once we got in, the distance was forgotten.
The room was very, very clean. The bathroom exceptionally clean, and the toilet paper rolls had little bows tied into them! Nice touch! The bathtub was clean enough to use...and was oversized as well! They could have provided a few more towels, but other than that, everything was great.
Inside the rooms were several booklets of information on local things to do. You could also order room service from Millie's, which was next door. We did...and while the food wasn't all that great, it was convenient.
The king bed was comfortable. The TV a bit small, but adequate given we weren't at Disneyland to watch TV in our hotel room!
Finally, the best thing...you can walk to Disneyland! No cars...no trams...no busses...just a very short walk that even our two year old didn't mind! And there are numerous places to eat along the way...IHOP...Denny's...Tony Roma's...Mc Donalds to name a few.
We never made it up to the pool, but from the sounds of the kids having fun, I'd say it was probably pretty good.
Also, for you Internet addicts, they have an Internet kiosk in the lobby! There are also two small stores on location where you can by some sundries as well as gifts. There is a guest laundy, a game room, and complimentary breakfast in the morning.
I think we had a mini-suite, but I'm not sure. King bed...big bathtub.
Overall, a top notch place!
The Not So Good. Every place, no matter how good it is, has some flaws. For us it was (1) being put all the way at the end of the hotel, when it seemed like the hotel was fairly empty, and (2) being placed next to the outside stairs, which somebody drug about six pieces of luggage down one morning at about 5:30AM.
We were there for three days. The first day I left a tip for the housekeepers in the morning...the second day I forgot, and they seemed to have noticed. That day we didn't get a full compliment of towels or washcloths...perhaps an oversight, perhaps retribution?
Other than that, great place!
