Pros:Educational book for small children.
Cons:none
The Bottom Line: The book set is likely to be a favorite among children.
My mother-in-law purchased this set for my son when he was born. I put it up, but then came across it when he was about 6 months old. I opened it up, and he immediately fell in love with it.
The Book
The book is a small spiral bound book with lightweight cardboard pages full of activities.
Pages 1 and 2
The first couple of pages introduce us to Paul and Judy. They are the characters illustrated throughout the book. They can do lots of things. You can do lots of things, too.
Pages 3 and 4
Page 3 shows Judy patting the bunny. On the opposite page, there is a plush bunny outlined for children to pat the bunny, too. My son loves patting the bunny.
Pages 5 and 6
The next pages show Paul and Judy playing peek-a-boo. There is a picture of Paul with a small piece of cloth over his face. My son LOVES playing peek-a-boo with Paul! This is his favorite game.
Pages 7 and 8
Paul smells the flowers. There are also separate scented flowers to smell, but this one took longer for my son to catch on. When I put the book to my nose to smell the flowers, he wasn't sure what I was doing. He would hold the book up to his face, and look at me as if he were wondering, "What do I do now?" Eventually, he started blowing on the flowers, but now he actually sniffs.
Pages 9 and 10
Judy looks in the mirror. There is also a mirror for baby on the opposite page. Of course, this is not a high quality mirror. It is one of those that almost make your eyes cross when you look at it, but my son knows immediately that he's seeing his reflection.
Pages 11 and 12
Next Judy feels Daddy's scratchy face. The following page allows the child to feel a sandpaper-type texture on a picture of daddy. This is my son's least favorite activity. He usually avoids this page, or just runs a fingernail across the rough texture.
Pages 13 and 14
We now see Judy sitting, reading her book. Her book is glued to the next page. It says, "JUDY'S BOOK" on the front, and consists of about 4-5 pages.
Pages 15 and 16
Paul puts his finger through Mommy's ring. On the next page, there is a picture of a hand holding a ring. It is the perfect fit for small fingers.
Pages 17 and 18
These are the last pages where we say bye to Paul and Judy. They wave bye-bye in the end. My son waves bye-bye, then starts all over again.
The Bunny
The bunny is a white, plush bunny that replicates the bunny seen on the front page of the book. It is squeezably soft, and can be machine washed. When my son is not playing with book, he is often hugging the bunny!
This set is educational and fun for small children. The interactive book is great for learning, and the plush bunny makes a great toy for cuddling. I highly recommend it.
