MsHooterville's Full Review: Paula Dorf Lip Color Sheer Tint Spf15 Pretty
The first time I heard about Paula Dorf makeup products was a few years ago on the QVC shopping channel, and during one recent visit I was especially impressed with the way this sheer lip tint looked on the models.
I can't say that I particularly noticed which color the model was wearing, but the gloss and shine on her lips was lovely. The idea of SPF was interesting to me, but even more I wanted a nice neutral but still lively daytime shade that would last.
So Many Colors, Only One Set of Lips!
Always a skeptic about any beauty product I see demonstrated on television, I stopped by our ULTA Cosmetics Store to see if they sold Paula Dorf. I found a fairly good selection of the SPF tinted lip color.
Taking advantage of the tester, I was pleased with the creamy consistency, the sheer coverage and the glossy shine on my lips. Equally important, I felt like my lips might be getting a beneficial treatment.
Paula Dorf's lip tint isn't sticky or smothering on your lips. No, the color won't last through a salad with oil dressing or a slice of pizza, but you can still feel the effects of the application.
If you're a person who often needs ChapStik or some other moisturizing lip coverage, you might consider Paula Dorf's products, at least this one.
There was a broad selection of beautiful colors ranging from burgundy and raisin tones to reds and pinks. Since I was only buying one, I chose "Pretty" because it's a good daytime shade that works well with any nail color I'm wearing.
Sure, there's a time and a place for brighter red and pink shades, but not all of them are appropriate for my skin tone. When all you want is to add a natural color to your lips, this is the perfect shade.

Because I carry "Pretty" with me in my purse and touch up a few times a day, I kept the tube inside the box to make it easier to find in the Bermuda Triangle of my hobo bag. It does help, and it keeps the lid from coming off the tube.
The lid isn't a problem with Paula Dorf lip tints, it stays on. I've just had too many negative experiences with products that don't, and I paid more for this lipstick than I do for most of the others I use.
I'll be Buying More Shades
Now that I know I'm satisfied with Paula Dorf lip products, I'll surely venture into more sheer reds and corals. Good deals are available online at Sephora.com, on QVC, ULTA and even Beauty.com. You should be able to treat yourself to a tube for about $15 if you take advantage of free shipping and coupons offered at some of those online sites.
