Durability:
Pros:Durable, colorful, adorable forest animals.
Cons:Entertaining for a little while, mostly for younger babies, hurts if hit by it.
The Bottom Line: Rain, sleet or snow, you can enjoy the sounds of outside anytime you want with Fisher Price.
I love the Fisher Price Peaceful Planet line of infant toys, almost as much as my daughter Jordan does. I bought Jordan the Peaceful Planet Wind Chime Ball when she was 5-months old, she is now 4 years old. Jordan doesnt play with it as much as she did when she was younger, but when she does play with it, she does enjoy it.
The soft pastel colors are soothing for babies to look at. The Fisher Price Peaceful Planet Wind Chime Ball also helps babies calm down with the gentle sound of the chimes. The Wind Chime Ball also teaches them colors and names of animals. Most of all your baby will have fun and be entertained for hours.
The Wind Chime Ball consists of a light brown base, which is the forest floor. The forest floor is a textured surface, with raised acorns, flowers and grass. The bottom is rounded, making it rock gently back and forth when moved, and makes the soft chiming sound that is music to your babys ears (and mommys). The bottom is light teal and a smooth surface.
The trunk of the tree is light beige. There is a hole in the middle where the 3 chimes are located. The hole is big enough so your little one can hit the chimes and make them move to hear the soft chiming sound. On the other side of the tree trunk is a cut out of a heart. The tree trunk is textured, from the cut out shapes and tiny lines running through it to give it more of a tree bark appearance.
The tree top is light teal and securely attached to the tree trunk with two screws. The tree top is textured with leaves. There is a handle on top so baby can carry it around where ever they go. Up until Jordan was 7 months old she liked to carry it around and throw it to hear the chimes or twists it around in her hand. She also liked to spin it around on its base and get it going as fast as she can. Now she plays with it ocassionally. It's more entertaining for the much younger crowd I guess.
There are 3 forest animals sitting on the forest floor and invite your baby to play with them with their adoring face and smiles. There is a light yellow mouse, with light pink ears, belly and feet. The mouse has adorable big brown eyes and a tiny brown nose. The next animal is a light blue bird, with a light pink belly, light purple wings, a yellow beak and big brown eyes. There is some beige around its face and eyes. Your little one can makes the birds wings move up and down. Last but not least is light orange and beige chipmunk. The chipmunk is holding a brown acorn in his arms. The chipmunk has big brown eyes and a tiny brown nose. The forest animals are all sitting on a piece of individual plastic that when the Wind Chime Ball is moved they gently rock back and forth.
What I like about the Wind Chime ball and the other Peaceful Planet line of toys is they are not loud and annoying to parents and overwhelm your baby with loud sounds. They have a soothing effect on you and baby any they bring the sounds of nature inside your house for everyone to enjoy year round. What I dont like is its hard plastic, so if you have a kid who likes to throw their toys or hit themselves with their toys, it will hurt or break something.
The Wind Chime ball is made out of a hard, durable plastic. Weve had ours for over a year now and it still looks brand new, with the exception of a few scratches from being thrown or banged against the wall or floor.
Its easy to keep clean with a damp cloth. A few of the parts are harder to get to and keep clean (inside the cut outs on the tree trunk and the forest floor with all of the textures).
I recommend the Peaceful Planet Wind Chime Ball to anyone with a young baby in the family. The Wind Chime ball is inexpensive, durable, colorful and provides hours of cooing, laughing, smiles and entertainment for your little one. Go out and get the Peaceful Planet Wind Chime ball, you wont be disappointed and your baby will love the sounds of the outdoors. But be aware, once they hit the age of 7 months or so, the Wind Chime is no longer fun.
