Intro:

   I purchased Peachtree Accounting last year for my small business. I own a small computer repair shop and started to see an increase in business and I knew I needed to get organized. After trying a few products here and there, I decided to go with Peachtree because it looked user friendly and easy to learn.

   I wasn't too concerned about the ease of use because I tend to learn software very fast but Peachtree was remarkably user friendly. From installation to integration I found that the software helped me get organized in more ways than one.

Setup and Installation:
  
   The actual Installation is a bit complicating because the wants to know the exact location of where the data will sit and whom will access it. I purchased the one user package but all that means is that one user can access it at a time and make changes. I can setup 4-5 or even more users with passwords and usernames but we will not be able to access the database at the same time.
   I had problems with my Antivirus during installation. Even though I disable antivirus, the program gave me an error message. I finally figured that Vistas Windows defender was the culprit and stopped the program, rebooted and no error message.

   The setup will take approximately 2-3 hours depending on how organized you are. I was a little organized and this was how long it took me to enter all of my customers, inventory, etc.

Features:

   The main page is whatever you would like to set it to but I prefer the business status page. This page has a summarized overview of what each quarter has been like. The pictorial revenue graphs and customer payment statuses keeps you alert on whom owes you and where the profit is going. A statement on accounts receivable and payable are also located on this main page and are very helpful for creating reports. generally reports are created for any information needed to be extracted from the Peachtree database, such as which customer and vendors are being paid at what time. The details can also be expandable and edited right from the main page.

   The navigation is fairly accessible and is located on the left hand side of the Peachtree browser. This makes for easy swapping of windows. The second tab features the customer and sales information. This is where all the customer contacts can be added and tracked. Each contact can be edited with phone number, address, email and customized fields. This window also allows you to tack jobs and taxes as well as quotes, sales orders and invoices. Another great feature is the finance charges and credits memos.

   Third tab down features the vendors and purchases. This window allocates Vendors names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and any other customized field you need. It handles all of your purchase orders, bills and bank accounting information. It also allows you to print checks and pay bills electronically.

   Fourth tab is your inventory and services page. Here you are able to keep track of all incoming and out coming inventory including packages and shipping. This is a great tool for eBay sellers. You can even have detailed assembly tracking such as a custom built computer. It will track each part separately.

   Fifth tab is Employees and payroll. Sense I am a one woman business, I do not use this often but it does have great features. It allows you to track time of employees and will bill them accurately. It has time and expense tickets and also a direct deposit feature. This page will also allow you to print payroll check for employees.

   Sixth tab allows you to reconcile your banking within Peachtree. This is a feature I do not use as my business is a cash business. It has some handy features which include, budgeting and bank deposits.

Conclusion:

   The report in this software are amazing and simple to use. There are so many different reports that can be generated and they are all helpful. The forms are customizable for your business logo and the email invoice email function is just great (no more paper bills).

   I would highly recommend this to anyone that has a small business whether it be Avon to EBay. It is just a simple software that will help you and not hurt you.
