| sojournseeker's Full Review: Pears Transparent Soap Hypoallergenic Non Comedoge... |
Facts listed on the cardboard packaging which is apparently bio-degradable and a personal story lends me the ability to effectively recommend the usage of this product when you are avoiding synthetic and LYE-based soaps, which most usually are--cept for this one !
1) Hypoallergenic; 2) Non-Comedogenic; 3) Transparent; 4) Ingredients; 5) Pears. Natural. Original. (marketing motto)
Simply because of fact #1 I am convinced this product is probably the best soaps for achieving the least dermatological reaction from my skin, which is ultra-sensitive ! It is made in India with a license to manufacture it through A.F. Pears which operates in the United Kingdom. Gosh how dependant us Americans are on everyone else, even down to our bathing demands.
I of course demand natural, or as close as I can get, because too many harmful chemicals are in too many good-to-decent products out here. Thankfully instead of being full of ingredients in a list reading a mile long with substances I cannot pronounce, this soap only has eight simple ingredients and five derived from the earths precious abundance from both plant and animal sources.
Rewind about ten years to fill you in on why I demand Pears now. I used to get red blotches, bumps sometimes and feeling very warm under the skin, upon getting out of a hot bath in which any gel, body wash or gentle exfoliating detergent was used to clean the debris of daily gross !
I could not tolerate the discomfort anymore and looked into handmade soap companies and what these women in their own little businesses were doing to relieve the chemical sting. It apPears (ha a play on words here), that glycerin a very mild fat or oil component is religiously used in the cosmetic and health and beauty industries. It is the third ingredient and NOT like the box really says--Transparent no, translucent yes. When wet and lathered a couple times, you cannot see right through it no matter how slim it gets with use.
The labels certainly live up to what is claimed because fact #2 assures that this soap is not made like others. It is technically a soap that is NOT synthetically produced which lacks a better portion of glycerin replacing or adding to it, the substances like moisturizing cream, gentle surfactants, mild detergents and sodium tallow ate. PEARS is almost purely natural. The term non-Comedogenic simply means it will not block your pores because it is highly water-soluble, dissolves fast but cleans effectively. I love it because it really comes off, no hidden residue that you feel after toweling dry but never see.
In fact #3 regarding the claim of transparency, the box even goes into detail into the ageing process of three months is achieved so that a consistent transparent appearance of the soap is visually acceptable to the manufacturer and distributor--in less words of course. As I see it, which right through the soap, I cannot see light completely it is fuzzy; therefore translucent works so much better in explaining the diffusion of light rays through it when help up to a bathroom mirror light.
I have to mention the smell. It is pleasant for a short bath and shower but I wouldn’t recommend having it open on your desk while writing a review on it and drinking apple cider. The smell is obnoxious after awhile. However, the ingredients specifically #6, #7, & #8 (PEARS’s own) are delivered pleasantly when wetted and lathered ready to be applied to equally wet skin.
Ingredients:
1) Sodium Palmitate--a common saturated fatty acid found in fats and used in creams, soaps, gels. No toxic or hazards found; 2) Natural Rosin--way cool this is resin synthetically produced from natural pine tree resin and is great for exfoliating without the coarseness of oatmeal. Not toxic; 3) Glycerin (already described above); 4) Water (simply fluoridated and polluted maybe filtered H20); 5) Sodium Cocoate-- these are fatty acid salts of coconut oil and quite healthy although high in cholesterol when ingested); 6) Rosemary Extract--strengthens capillaries and has a rejuvenating effect so imagine that if our integument system (the skin) has larger pores and smaller pores throughout its entire length, that this is very good for our bodies. It is used for deriding the yucky residue that attaches to our skin throughout the day as sweat acts as a magnet for debris); 7) Thyme extract--serves as the germ-killing prevention team of little soldiers disguised as bubbles that use antimicrobial weaponry to remove any contaminants from the skin. Protects and serves . . .; and finally ingredient #8 is Pears Fragrance essence of which we do not know any nature of it, unlisted chemical or natural substance.
I enjoy, and so does my skin, that there are no colorants in this 4.4 ounce or 125 grams of natural cleansing, chunk of heaven, soap bar. It becomes milky translucent wetted amber colored soap that is neat to look at and perfect to wash up with. It has a curvature of the oval-shaped rim that upon wetting and creating lather slowly disappears over the course of a month or so if two people who wash four times a week. Since there is little in it, lots comes off with it and I don’t mean stripping the skin of its much-needed collagen oils but this cleans debris, effectively.
The experience is refreshing, calming, rejuvenating and truly residue-free ! I recommend rinsing it off with cool water and towel-drying it before placing it on a soap rack or in a dish so melted glycerin is not everywhere. We get some hot days around here and I notice when left out and not rinsed and dried, it gets soft and quite pliable in the heat, despite air-conditioning. This does not ruin its capability to cleanse it just leaves a little mess if left wet and exposed to high heat.
So what are you waiting for? A bit pricey in those expensive shops but really cheap at the Dollar Stores and yes, they do carry this stuff !
Lather up baby and Enjoy !
