Pros: A 100% complete and balanced meal in a can...tastes as good as it smells!
Cons: None that I am aware of.
The Bottom Line: Because of Winston's reaction when I opened this dog food, I truly believe that it must taste as good as it smells to dogs. 100% complete and balanced meal.

| PalmerLD's Full Review: Pedigree Brand Choice Cuts Dog Food |
If any of you read my last Epinion, then you will probably remember that we have been babysitting our "grand-dog," Winston. He is a beautiful, well-mannered almost 5 year old Golden Retriever. His choice of dog food is PEDIGREE and as such, has given me the opportunity to write my second review of another one of their fine pet food products.
The PEDIGREE dog food product that I am reviewing now is from their canned Choice Cuts in Sauce line and more specifically, the Country Stew selection. This product comes in a 13.2 oz. can, and is soy free. It is developed, made, and tested by the animal nutritionists and veterinarians at Waltham, a company that has been in the pet food business for over 65 years, and lays claim to being the "world's leading authority on pet care and nutrition."
This particular product really got Winston's attention when I opened the can. Not only did his ears stand up, but he also put his nose upright in the air and began sniffing! A very good sign, I thought. Even though he is primarily fed their dry food, I decided to give him a little treat...a "grand-dog mother's" prerogative, I believe. Needless to say, he literally gobbled up his Choice Cuts in Sauce Country Stew!
As I mentioned earlier, this product is soy free. It is highly digestible, and provides 100% complete nutrition for growth and maintenance. It is an excellent blend of tasty meaty chunks, made from quality ingredients that are prepared and served in a rich, juicy sauce. It, like their other dog food products, contains the 5 "building blocks" that are found on the Waltham Dog Nutrition Pyramid, and which are required for 100% complete and balanced dog food nutrition and health. These 5 "building blocks" are:
1. VITAMINS
2. MINERALS
3. ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS
4. CARBOHYDRATES & FIBER
5. PROTEIN
This is an adult dog food, but it can be fed to puppies, too. The can has a very thorough "daily feeding guide for adult dogs" on the back of the can. Not only is it broken down by weight, it also provides a picture of a typical breed of dog in that particular weight range. The 'correct amounts to feed' are listed by canned food only, as well as by mixing canned and dry food together... very helpful, I thought. This food should be served at room temperature, and any unused portions should be refrigerated.
Would Winston and I recommend PEDIGREE Choice Cuts in Sauce Country Stew to other dog owners? You betcha! The Choice Cuts in Sauce line has a total of 8 choices, I believe. One of our local grocery stores had it on sale for $0.59 a can (regularly sold at $0.69 per can), but I got it free, as I had a coupon for 2 free cans of PEDIGREE if a large bag of their dry food was purchased as well. Can't beat that!
Please always remember to keep a bowl of fresh water available at all times for your pet(s).
