Pros: 3-position recline, can be forward or rear facing, easy to maneuver, big hood
Cons: not good for travel, small basket
The Bottom Line: The Martinelli is versatile and easy to maneuver. The padding is great. This is a great stroller as long as you have another one to take when you travel.

When I initially chose a stroller, I decided against the Martinelli in favor of a small, lightweight, umbrella stroller. As it turned out, I got the Martinelli as a gift. I thought about returning it until I used it once. I loved it immediately.
Until my son was 3 months old, I had the stroller facing me. After that, I just flipped the handlebar over, adjusted the wheels, and he faced forward. It is very easy to switch. The handlebar adjusts to 3 different positions/heights by pushing a button. Though the stroller handles better in a forward-facing position (which is how I've been using it ever since I switched it), it's ok in the rear-facing position, too. The stroller folds easily, but is rather bulky and therefore not great for travel.
I love the large hood, which protects from the sun and the wind. As long as the stroller is not in a fully reclined position, the hood can completely cover the baby. If the hood is pushed all the was forward while in the fully reclined position, the seat will sit up a bit. There is also a zipper in the rear of the hood to provide ventilation if needed. The boot fully lines the stroller and further protects the baby from the wind and cold. The seat is well-padded and seems to be comfortable.
The only negatives are:
1. When folded, it is not that small. It takes up nearly the whole trunk of the car, and is therefore not great for travel
2. The basket is a bit small (I bought a small diaper bag for use with this stroller, since my regular bag did't fit easily).
One other minor point: We live in New York City, and I take the stroller everywhere--to the park, on the streets, to restaurants, etc. It is very durable and handles mud, cobblestones, and sidewalks with no problems. However it's too wide to fit down the aisles in some of the smaller stores.
I love this stroller. And despite my husband's initial desire to return it, he loves it now too. We take our umbrella stroller when we travel, but we use this stroller everywhere else.
