| Bella_Nunzia's Full Review: Peg Perego Prima Papa High Chair Stile Deep Navy W... |
When we first started looking at highchairs, one of the major features that they pointed out was that the seat covers were removable and machine washable. I thought to myself - how many times a day am I supposed to be doing laundry and waiting for the seat cover to dry so that I can feed my child again.
The cloth features on other high chairs didn't make sense to me. I wanted a high chair that I can simply wipe down and clean. The thought of cloth covers just didn't seem right.
I looked around for a bit and quickly found the Prima Papa series by Peg Perego. Not only did this come in a leatherette finish, but the height was adjustable too! I always wondered why a high chair needed to be so high. If you are sitting at the dinner table, why does the baby need to be higher than you? This high chair has an adjustable mechanism where you can lower the actual seat so that you are more level with it when you are both sitting down.
The highchair also has a double tray feature which I never saw before. A trap snaps onto the main tray in which you can remove and either put in the dishwasher or simply clean by tossing the left over food that is sitting on the tray. By having just the top tray removed, you save the inconvenience of having to slide out the entire tray table and attempt to clean it. Some sinks aren't large enough to accommodate the tray plus mechanism, so this is perfect that the top tray is removable.
Another great feature that this highchair has is that it reclines. I wouldn't use it for sleeping, but when the child is smaller and are unable to hold their head up, you can simply recline the chair a bit and they are secure in the lay back feature. This way they do not sway back and forth.
When you are short on space, this high chair neatly folds up and can be stored upright. I keep it in between the fridge and the cabinet and it out of sight when not needed.
This high chair may cost a bit more than other highchairs out there on the market, but it is definitely worth it. The height adjustment, reclining feature and dual tray are perfect for newborns through toddler age. The best part of it is that it is NOT machine washable - in other words, you only need a damp cloth to clean the leatherette finish.
