| frigedr's Full Review: Peg Perego Prima Pappa High Chair Roller |
I first saw this high chair when I was seven months pregnant with our youngest. We were enjoying the day at a friend's house and they were using it for their one year old. I fell almost instantly "in love".
The chair has many appealing features. Especially, when compared to the metal frame model our oldest had. We wee determined that this was the high chair we were going to have this time around.
The high chair folds down to about ten inches wide or the width of the base of the seat. The folding feature makes it easy to take over to relatives' homes for those holiday meals. I, however, have great difficulty folding it up. My husband, on the other hand, can fold it up in seconds.
The chair has a four position reclining seat. This feature is good for when baby falls asleep at the table. You can lean them right back to avoid the head in the mess on the tray issue. I used this feature because my youngest was so tiny that the tray on most highchairs came to her forehead. It reclines with just one hand. The recline is smooth enough that it wouldn't wake a sleeping child.
The high chair has seven different height adjustments. You are sure to find the one for your table. Adjusting the height requires both hands but, it is still very easy to raise and lower. In the lowest position, I can actually sit on the floor and feed the baby. With the many height adjustments you can pull it right up to the table, eliminating the need for a booster seat.
The chair is on rollers so you can scoot it in or out from the table easily. To prevent accidents (like Jr. pushing himself away from the table) the rollers have a lock feature. The feature is easily activated with a step on the red lever found on top of the rollers.
I have had a chance to interact with Peg Perego's customer service and found them to be a joy to deal with. You see, this high chair ended up being given to us by a customer of my husbands. When we got it, there was no seat pad. So, I called the company to get information about a replacement. The customer service representative asked all the right questions to find out my exact model number. Then she informed me that the chair was under two years old and they did not design it to need a new seat pad so soon so, she would sell me a new one at half off. She then placed the order and allowed me to mail them a check. This very expensive high chair cost me $21.00 for the non-leather pad model.
I love this high chair and would have happily paid full price for it. I recommend it to everyone.
