Ease of Use:
Pros:Nice looking, large storage basket, durable fabric, good maneuverability when baby is facing forward
Cons:Terrible maneuverability when baby is facing you, useless cupholder, wheels squeak after awhile
The Bottom Line: I would recommend buyers consider 2008 model to see if improvements have been made in the areas specified. Otherwise, consider an alternative ie. Pliko P3
I originally purchased the UNO for the following reasons:
- convertible to bassinette feature in one easy motion
- option to have baby lie flat as recommended by experts
- well padded seat
- large storage basket
- durable fabric/attractive colours/design
- matching peg carseat
- zero radius turning wheels
- the handle bar -- goes across as opposed to two separate handles
Having used it for the past 9 months, we love this stroller for the following reasons:
- extra large storage basket -- great for shopping at the
mall
- the large hood
- durable fabric/colour
- relatively compact when folded - easy to fold down
- comfy seat
- easy to maneuver when baby is facing forward
- can easily attach other manufacturer's carseat
The UNO could definitely be improved in the following ways:
- cupholder is pretty much useless -- a 'regular' bottle of water will not fit
- when handle is reversed to put stroller in bassinette mode - the maneuverability is awful; very difficult to turn
- the wheels squeak after awhile...and will squeak again in a short period of time after being lubricated
- I definitely do not recommend the matching carseat -- other than looking great - it needs to be redesigned to prevent baby's sleeping head from lopping forward because it's too upright
Would I have purchased this stroller if I had known the above? Possibly; however, I probably would have opted for the PLIKO P3 instead. In the end, we have rarely used the bassinette feature as it's always more convenient just to leave baby in the carseat and attach the carseat to the stroller. Also, due to the fact that it's so difficult to maneuver when baby is facing you - that in itself acts as a deterrent in using that option when you just want to keep things simple. However, I still like the look of the stroller, the large storage basket (the PLIKO P3 does not have a large storage basket) and the unique fabric/colour and it's easy to fold up!
