Pros: Delicate undeniably elegant tasty treat!
Cons: watch your calories!
There are thirteen different kinds of Pepperidge Farm Milano cookies and I am writing about the kind I most love which is Milano Original Dark Chocolate.
Pepperidge Farm makes Double Chocolate cookies also but I go for plain old fashioned ORIGINAL Milano cookies in the six-ounce package containing fifteen cookies with no artificial flavors or preservatives.
I was first introduced to Milano cookies through a vending machine. I had no intentions of getting cookies that dark rainy day while waiting to enjoy my break on the job. However, fate had it that I was to get cookies and cookies I got. I deposited my coins into the machine and could have sworn I pressed the Cheez-It button. Out drop a small package of these oblong cookies instead.
That deposited, I was out of more coins. I was plain outright stuck with my cookies! "The wise mistake the machine dealt me" is what I always say now when I buy Milano cookies and I smile because those cookies were a most enjoyable mistake.
These light vanilla waver tasting cookies have a thin spread of dark chocolate in the middle of two cookies. I really like the fact that Pepperidge Farms knew how to add just enough of their dark rich chocolate against two luscious light vanilla wavers. Just enough so I can taste both the chocolate and the vanilla waver while enjoying my snack break. Ahhh!
Pepperedge Farms Milano Original Cookies are part of the company's European cookies series. They are simple and elegant. I read that these cookies were born through a boo-boo. The deal was to make a one-wafer cookie and cover it with chocolate. However, the chocolate kept sticking in these warm climates so it was decided to "keep the chocolate in the middle" by adding a wafer at each end.. And thus, Pepperidge Farms Milano Cookies was born. Ahhh!
Pepperidge Farms is located in Norwalk, Connecticut and their toll free number is 1-888-737-7374. I paid $2.50 for a 6 ounce bag of fifteen cookies, 5 cookies to a scrunchy muffin paper cup (as I call it) at Walmart. The original price is $3.39.
Oh, by the way, three of these cookies is 180 calories so watch out as the calories add up.
