| Bryan_Carey's Full Review: Pete's Winter Brew |
Pete's Winter Brew is a seasonal taste sensation. It is an amber- colored beer, with little foam and an aroma of spice and malt. When you take your first sip, you will sense a taste of sweet raspberry and nutmeg. This beer finishes with a slight bitterness. There is an initial creaminess, followed by a slight dryness in the finish. But none of the flavors is too overwhelming. The spiciness and the fruitiness are kept at just the right level so that you still can tell you are drinking beer. Other fruit beers go way too far on the fruit flavoring, sometimes to the point that you wonder if you are drinking a cooler. Pete's Winter Brew does not do that. It keeps the malt, raspberry, nutmeg, and hop flavors all balanced out.
Pete's Winter Brew could be matched up with a sweet/spicy dessert, but I think it is best drank alone, so that you can savor every drop. And I think it tastes even better when served straight from the tap, although I will gladly accept the bottled version if there are no kegs around.
Next time you are in the store, pickup a case of Pete's Winter Brew. You will be surprised just how great it tastes and how quickly you will yearn for more.
