I own three cats and it seemed that I was constantly refilling their water bowl. Maybe it was because the dogs were drinking from it! Anyway, I got tired of cleaning up water spills and being a slave to my cats. So I bought the Petmate LeBistro when I saw it at my local petstore. I asked a salesperson if it really worked and she said that although she had never tried it, a lot of cat owners seemed to buy them. Well, it wasn't too expensive, so I figured, "Why not?" You fill it by pulling off the clear plastic top from the base and then inverting it back on until it "thunks" into place. It holds about a gallon of water. Just be careful when picking it up! If you don't support the base, the unit separates and you'll find yourself swimming in water! That happened to me twice! It's a great waterer that can also be used for dry food. Sometimes the "bowl" gets a little dirty with dust and food particles, but I've stuck in into the dishwasher several times with no ill results. If you live in a household and share it with multiple pets, spend your money on this timesaver!
