I have 3 cats that rule the roost and one thing they want is their food. When THEY want it! They also have their own feeding times. After being attacked at night by my hungry fatties, I knew I had to do something.
I was shopping at a local pet warehouse when I happened upon the Petmate Le Bistro. I thought it kinda had a silly name, but the idea interested me a great deal.
The design is simple. Its made of a very thick, sturdy plastic material and has a wide top for easy filling and cleaning. The mouth at the bottom which houses the bowl is also wide enough for two of my kitties to eat together. The third has to eat with the top of the container off. He's a space case. I guess he likes to eat above the other two.
Anyway, I can fill the hopper with a bag of dry cat food which will last them almost 4 days. (They eat a lot:o) But the petmate La Bistro is very convenient because it allows you to care for your pet properly, yet you don't have to do it every day. Same for the water dish. It too is the same design and will hold enough water to last a week.
We went away for a weeks vacation and had no one to watch the cats. So we used both petmates for food and left a huge bowl of water out. When we returned home, there was still plenty of food left.
Now when I first got the petmate I found that when it would be close to getting empty, it was easy for the cats to knock it over. So I solved that problem by placing velcro on the bottom of the petmates and to the top of the dryer. (this is where they prefer to eat) That solved the tipping problem. No more spills!
Now the cost is very reasonable and runs in the neighborhood of $15.00 each. Its easy to fill and clean and allows easy access to the food. I recommend the Petmate La Bistro to anyone who has a pet. You will not regret this purchase.
