I purchased my PetMate Pet Taxi so my daughter could have a kitten in the house. I had no idea as to what else to buy. She had begged me for a kitten for weeks, so I went up to the barn and we picked out a nice Calico kitten. We brought the kitty to the house and put it in a box. Well, of course it would not stay in the box. So off to town I went to buy a pet taxi, since I could not find one here on the place. (Thanks brothers!)

Well, I went to our local farm store to find a pet taxi. Sure enough, they had quiet an assortment. I chose the Petmate Pet Taxi because it is light weight and made from a very durable plastic. It also came with a limited one-year warranty. Also, it looked easy to put together.

It consists basically of three parts; (1) plastic top hull (2) plastic bottom hull (3) plastic door with handle and attached twist-lock fasteners.


Assembly is easy. Cut the cable tie that holds the two kennel halves together and place the top half on the bottom half. Then seperate the molded plastic door assembly by twisting and breaking apart the individual pieces. When finished seperating, you should have 1 door, 1 handle, 10 twist-lock fasteners and 1 door pin each. Insert the handle into the top of the kennel by slightly twisting the pins into the holes provided. Insert the door pins into the corresponding slots in the top and bottom of the door.


Finally, fasten the top and bottom by rotating the twist-lock fastener one quarter of a turn in the slot. The twist-lock is in the locked position when the tab is parallel to the edge of the rim. Now you are ready to go! This was all very easy for me to do, and it took longer for me to write about it than actually do it.

The size of my Petmate Pet Taxi is 23'x14.5x11.5. It will hold a small pet up to 15 pounds. It is really to big for Kitty, but it will do for now. The color I have is Grey and Teal. It washes very easy, with just soap and water. It has nice ventilation holes on the sides. My purchase price was $25.00, at our local farm store. I give this product a 5.
