| Freak369's Full Review: Pez Winnie The Pooh 12 Ct Box |
Most people see Pez as a tiny little candy that gets popped out of a dispenser; I used to think that way until I started collecting them. I am not a hard core Pez fanatic that spends an obscene amount on them but if I see something that I like I will get it. The Winnie The Pooh collection is a four set series that includes Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore. They are done up in their original colors and are packaged individually; the twelve count box should have three of each character but that is the risk that you take when buying them by the box. You get a great price but you are not guaranteed to get an equal amount of each character or design.
Winnie The Pooh Pez Collection
These are packaged individually in a plastic sleeve that contains two rolls of Pez candy, the dispenser and an insert showing how to load the candy. I always grab a few boxes of the Pooh variety for Halloween as they make for a nice little treat to add to bags for local kids or if we are doing a swap at a homeschool function. These are well made plastic dispensers but the ears can be problematic; Pooh, Piglet and Tigger all have ears that stick out slightly from their head so if they are tossed in a backpack or kids are goofing around with them they can break off. Not only does that pose a choking threat if there are younger kids playing in the same area but the dispenser can have a rough edge where the ear piece broke off.
One thing that I love about this assortment is that the stems carry over the color from the head of the dispenser. Sometimes you end up with the generic red or blue stem but they went all out with these. The color on Eeyore is the best; it is a blue gray tone that is an almost dead ringer for the 'real life' Eeyore. The same goes with Tigger and his orange tone, the facial expressions on all of them are 100% accurate too. Tigger has a huge smile, Pooh has a wide open grin, Piglet's cute pink nose is present and accounted for and even Eeyore is sporting a slight grin. These are some of the best looking themed dispensers I have seen in a long time and they are sure to please any fan of Winnie The Pooh & Friends.
You dont have to buy these by the box, most stores sell them individually for about $1.00 to $1.50 but you can pay more than that if you are in a specialty shop. I get the boxes for anywhere from six to eight dollars, the six dollar price is usually if the box is dented or otherwise can't be used for display purposes. Since I am not selling these I could care less about the box or even if one of the dispensers is broken or missing. When you do the math it is a lot more economical to get the twelve count box but you do have to make sure that you will have a need for them or if you are buying them to collect them and sell them at a later time. Will the price ever increase on these? They might but only if they change the design or discontinue them and I can't see Pez yanking them out of production because they are great sellers. Another possibility is if the partnership between Disney and Pez dissolves, that will almost instantly skyrocket the selling price and the collectibility aspect of it.
The Bottom Line
These are considered common dispensers; they are not rare or hard to find so any site that says that they are is flat out lying. From Pooh's charming face to Tigger's bold stripes, all four of these disperses have their own Pez personality. They all have the Pez trademarked logo on the side of the stem and are officially licensed Disney products. Whether you collect Pez or are a fan of Pooh, these are four quality dispensers that have a lot of detail to them and are a lot of fun to have with you when the craving for a piece of Pez strikes. Refill insert candies are sold separately and you can get them in a variety of flavors. If you like these you might also be interested in the mega sized Pez dispensers, some of which play music when the head is tilted backwards.
As always, thanks for the visit
