| scott_howell's Full Review: Phase 10 Card Game |
Now, let me start by saying that I'm very good at card games that require strategy. I love to play them because I usually win. THIS GAME IS DIFFERENT! (Sorry, had to vent a little bit there)
The object of the game is to complete different phases. The first to complete all 10 phases is the winner. Hence the name. The phases are listed on several cards for easy reference so there is no guess work involved.
It's all simply luck of the draw as you go around the table drawing and discarding until someone is out of cards. Skip cards are included to make the game more interesting. There is a nice twist to this though as you can choose who you skip.
Once a hand is completed those who completed their required phase move on to the next while those who didn't try again. Any cards remaining in a players hand after the hand are counted and score is kept. This is done only to determine winner if more than one player happen to complete phase 10 on the same hand.
The down side to this game is if you fall more than two phases behind the leader. At that point it is obvious there is no chance of winning. The final phases actually seem easier than the middle three.
The cards are made to be durable and are easy to handle.
It is a fun game and I would love to win sometime. I still like to play it though.
