Pros:Tasty, mild and has many uses
The Bottom Line: Tasty mild and great to cook with or serve at a party or brunch
I've been a Philadelphia Cream Cheese fan since I was a kid on school. I loved cream cheese and jelly. I ate cream cheese and jelly every day for lunch for at least one whole school year. Just looking at that familiar package brings back memories.

I loved and still love bagels and cream cheese or bagels and lox with cream cheese for a Sunday breakfast. Hubby and I go to a bagel place, Offerdahls and order bagels and cream cheese specifically. You can have couples over for a breakfast or brunch of bagels and.... that's what we call it bagels and... we mean bagels and cream cheese and everyone knows we'll be serving Philadelphia Cream Cheese.
It comes in a thick , solid brick wrapped in silver paper. You can slice your portion off or open one end and use a butter knife to serve yourself. You can unwrap the entire brick, dust it with Paprika and make it look decorative and inviting for a tablescape.
It's thick in texture but spreads well and has a mild, creamy flavor.
As far as bagels go Philadelphia Cream Cheese goes with every kind of bagels. You can go sweet with a Cinnamon Raisin bagel or get your salt revved up with an Everything bagel. Cream cheese is a great accompaniment. It's delish on Cinnamon Toast and sometimes I even put it in the tiny squares on my Waffles to add a little protein to the meal.
You can mix cream cheese with bits of pimento, scallions or nuts. You can use it to make great dips depending on what you add to it. Onion, Crab, Chives, Shrimp or whatever suits your fancy. I've used cream cheese in recipes for icing and cake filling. Even if you don't like cheese you'll like cream cheese. Because it's extremely mild and creamy children usually take to it quickly. It's easy to slice or serve it whole on a tray with your breads. It's wonderful with Rye bread or Pumpernickel. You can make your dip with Philadelphia Cream Cheese and serve it in a carved out round Pumpernickel bread. Use the carved out chunks as dippers.
It's also a great thickener for soups. The Philadelphia cream cheese we are most familiar with is the silver brick 8 oz size. It has a handy measuring guide on the package. It's easy to spread, to mold, to slice and to cook with as well as to incorporate into party dishes or everyday dishes.
For Christmas you can mold it into a tree shape and sprinkle it with parsley. Add very thinly sliced Pimento stuffed Olive slices as decorations.
