| jljohnston's Full Review: Philips 20PT6245 20 inch TV |
Purchased this as a second or back up TV from the Philips Employee Store, so the cost was very reasonable. It gives a very good picture for a small receiver, and has fair sound from the built in speakers.
Oddly enough, though it appears to have great connectivity with S-Video, component and composite video inputs, and side panel connectors there is only ONE active audio input. So if you want to play a DVD, the audio jacks have to be disconnected and reconnected (you can switch the video input to component via the remote). Not a problem if you used RF, I suppose, but this flat screen CRT TV can do much better. It's as if they designed it to be used with an A/V receiver to switch the inputs for sound. And that is what I've ended up doing, though the surround effect kind of overwhelms the little screen. Strange design.
