The AZ7781 is the 1st discman of it's kind that i have ever purchased. both in terms of bang for your buck and features, this product is my number one. aside from having excellent sound quality and relatively long battery life, this discman was built by smart people and it shows. it is the first i have seen that contains a recessed lens which prevents scratching. it has the battery compartment on the inside so it is in less danger of breaking. the batteries are also contained by an additional piece of plastic over them within the battery case. it also has a more open area on each side of the disc tray for easier loading and removing of discs. mine has been dropped and banged, and it never skips proving that anyone who thinks they will need 40 second antishock is nuts. this saves money by cutting out the unneeded features, and keeping a smart, sturdy design. a definite buy!
