Purchased this at a great price because I wanted to see if modern anti-skip technology had progressed to make personal CD's useful (even a couple of years ago, it hadn't even in the top Discman).
This is a handsomely styled unit, VERY compact and lightweight. The controls can actually be operated by feel. The way that the CD loads into the player is much easier than most and feels more secure.
In use, the anti-skip feature is EXCELLENT for all but severe knocking around and this makes the unit truly a functional personal CD for most purposes. The battery life is exceptional.
The downside of the performance is the fact that the headphones that came with it are poor quality and when listening to classical CD's with the volume control @ max, there is inadequate level to hear soft passages! I ended up purchasing Sennheiser MX-5 "earbud" type phones which cured the problem. The metallic surface of the player scratches easily and so must be put in a bag to preserve it's good looks.
For an inexpensive player, I think it has good value. Any personal audio player will benefit from upgrading the headphones, anyway!
