I purchased the Philips AZ7781 for two main reasons. First it plays my burnt CD's, and second it came with a car adapter kit. This kit included the usual for the car in addition to headphones, which I feel just plain suck. Buy yourself some headphones, if you don't already have some, because you won't be satisfied with these. It would have been nice if I didn't have to buy the headphones, and Philips could have knocked off a couple of bucks from the price.
It was time for a CD player because my previous Sony Discman died after being dropped. Accidents happen, so far I've already dropped the Philips CD player a couple of times, and it still works! Also this CD player is slimmer and light compared to the heavier chunkier Sony I once had. Another positive thing for this CD player is that it does not skip, you can walk with it, have it in your car and go over those potholes and speed bumps, and the music keeps on going. The only main design flaw I see in the Philips player is the open tab which is place in the very front of the CD player, this usually gets accidentally pushed over causing the lid to pop up. Overall I am satisfied with this purchase, I was skeptical of purchasing a Philips product over a Sony but now find myself quite satisfied with this initial risk.
