Pros: Very durable, never skips, good sound quality.
Cons: Comes with some funktified headphones.
Volume knob and button layout could be better planned.
The Bottom Line: Great player for the price. It has lasted me two years of heavy abuse and still works great!!

This is the second discman I have owned and I have had it for about two and a half years. I works just as good as the day I bought and I use the thing practically every day.
I like the way it looks and the Electronic Skip Protection technology is really unbeatable. It also plays all of my self-burned CDs. The digital bass boost is great and really enhances the music if you have the right kind of headphones (note: if you use the DBB with the included headphones at volume level greater than eight you will probably notice some distortion).
It seems that it could be a little louder though (i'm not sure if this is a CD player or headphone issue) I really like to crank it up sometimes and it just won't go. Also Philips has put aesthetics ahead of ergonomics with this design, the button layout is very wierd seeming at first and the LCD screen can tend to get some fingerprints on it if you are not careful. The worst thing is the dang volume knob, which is virtually hidden underneath near the headphone jack, it's a little to recessed to be easily accessible. C'mon Philips, we need to adjust the volume more than once a week!!!!!
Oh yeah and one other thing, every time you initiate playback you have to push the DBB button again, which can get kind of irritating.
