When I got my new truck I didn't have a cd player in it just the tape player. And I wanted something that looked cool and could take a rough ride out on my farm. Also I burn almost all my cds and I know some cd players don't read those. So I picked this one because all I have is phillips electronic, beside for my Imac and PC pretty much. And it works great never once has it sliped unless I tell someone that so they think they are smart by proving me wrong and beating on it for 40 secs. Also this cd player holds up great after me droping when jump out of the truck. The only problem I had is i would kill the baterys after one cd but I have the anti skip and bass on and also I only use burned cds in it. So this may be effecting the power being used. If you need a tough enough cd player that looks cool get the phillips.
