| nykfan777's Full Review: Philips AZ9101 Personal CD Player |
Philips must be making a mistake giving these things away for $55-$65. This is the cheapest personal CD player that is CD-RW compatible.
CD-RW compatible means it can play special CD-Rs called CD-RWs that can be re-written, if you get bored of them. This means all you need is one CD-RW to play your music, instead of wasting regular CD-Rs that you'll get bored of. This is the best feature on this CD player.
The second best feature is its skip protection. Its called ESP cubed. It has 40 second skip protection. I have used this CD player in car rides, trips everywhere and never have I even heard it skip once. I imagine it can skip but I don't know what you have to do. So if you hate when your personal CD player skips, I highly recommend this unit.
This CD player also comes equipped with new power saving technology to get the most out of your batteries for extra rotation in your player.
Digital Bass Boost lets you enjoy your music with super bass.
Street trendy design is made up of a ice blue translucent cover so you can see how fast your CD is moving. (hehe) Also the CD player is very thin and light. There is a glossy finish around the LCD that you can see your face in. The headphones that come with it are on the large side, and match the unit perfectly.
However there is a problem with the headphones they give you. Sometimes, when I'm in a noisy area I can't get them to go louder than the area. For instance, the player's volume is from 1-10. Well sometimes, I want to push the dial to 11. However, this con is MINOR and you can always buy different headphones.
Another thing that annoys me is if your playing a CD and the battery dies, you need to open up the CD player, take out the CD and then remove the batteries. I wish they just could have made the battery slot on the outside. Again this is something minor, and it might not even bother some people.
Overall this is a great portable CD player and will be liked by everybody. There are no existing flaws that would make someone not want to buy this item. The reason this product is not a best seller is because many people look at the price and think its just a piece of junk, because you get what you pay for, but its NOT! Its just a good price. I would give this 4.5 stars if I could but I will have to round it down to 4.
