We had bought a portable CD player several years ago and returned it after only a couple days of using it. Why? Because in the car it skipped horribly! Every little bump we went over it skipped. Not worth the money we paid for it.
Well, we decided to try one again because I have started walking and wanted to have one to walk with. For a very reasonable price ($59.99 at Costco) we got the Philips AZ9103.
My husband was skeptical about the anti-skip on it so while I was listening to it he yanked the CD player back and forth, up and down, he made me jump with it it, run up and down the stairs....still no skips!!! Yeah! Passed the main test!
This CD player has many functions. A button you slide on the side allows you to lock the buttons so if you push a button it doesn't affect the music or you can chose for the player to resume where you stopped instead of going back to the beginning of the CD. This is great if you are getting in and out of the car, it will just pick up where you last heard.
You can chose to Shuffle the tunes (listen to them in random order once), Shuffle Repeat (will continuously play the songs in random order), Repeat (will repeat the current song over) or Repeat All (will continuously play the CD in order over and over again). There is also a feature that allows you to program the songs in whichever order you would like. A good selection if there are some songs you just can't stand!
This player is so light and compact. I also bought a CD pack that you wear like a fanny pack. When I have the player in that, I can't even tell I am carrying anything, which is great when I am walking 2-3 miles at a time.
