EXTREMELY TEMPERMENTAL by pelican33 | Jan 31 '04 Pros: user friendly... setting it up to program from more than one disc is relatively easy. Cons: too many problems to count... it will frustrate you.

FYI no 'stand alone' cd burner will allow you to make a copy of a copy. It has nothing to do with CDR, or a flaw in the deck.
You can make a copy of a copy if that disc was burned on a PC or Mac, but not a copy of a disc that was burned with a stand alone unit. Stand alone units have to deal with SCMS or Serial Copy Management System, something to keep music piracy at bay. PC were exempt from this particular law, so they don't deal with it.
Also, make sure you buy the proper CDRs for this deck. They will be labeled "for music" or have 'digital audio' in the CD logo on the package, standard PC CDRs will only say 'compact disc recordable" in the logo. I own both a stand alone CDR burner, a Philips CDR 870, and a PC CDR burner.
