I was spending well over $50 a month at Starbucks to get the flavor I had to have. I tried many different combinations from a Starbuck machine ($200) that my friend bought, to making a single cup with a Melita funnel. I tried expensive beans and I tried freezing the beans and grinding them fresh. Nothing I did would compete with Starbucks or any of the local brew stores. I surrendered to starbucks for months. Then I saw a very attractive machine with a thermal carafe. I read that most coffee goes bad after sitting on a burner for 10 minutes. which 99% of most home machines have. I tried it with water from a reverse osmosis filter and I haven't been to starbucks since. This is worth the money!!! You can even take the carafe to a friends house and not worry about breaking it.
