| phillydogaz's Full Review: Philips DV910VHS DVD Player / VCR Combo |
This unit was the first DVD player I ever bought, so I was not completely sure what to expect. I wanted to save space and still have a dvd and vcr so I figured it would be perfect, especially with a name like Phillips. Well, right off the bat the DVD seemed to be unusually slow, and now that I have tried other DVD players I have found that to be true. Also, the remote control is unnecessarily confusing. It takes some practice to be able to get the unit to do basic functions. When other people try to use the remote they are completely lost. It also does a terrible job playing back other formats besides DVD.
When I first got the unit, the VCR side ate a tape. I returned it and got it fixed. Well, that was a year ago. No sooner had the warranty run out than it started eating tapes again. Now I no longer use the VCR side. Don't be fooled by the name brand, this unit is a piece of junk.
