I've been waiting for the latest technology to be available at a reasonable price. The DVD963SA is an DVD\CD\SACD (Super Audio CD) player that has it. If you read the spec's and don't understand the technology, just know that for the discriminating user the technology does matter. There is a lot of computing power in the background. A year ago this player would have been twice the price. Since I play more CD\SACD's than DVD's, I especially appreciate the ability to turn off the DVD part of it. I don't know if that switch makes a sonic difference, but it does make a difference in load time for a CD. The unit looks and feels solid, and works smoothly.
