Pros: plays music
Cons: average sound, annoying quirks, broke down quickly
The Bottom Line: average sound at best. ugly and full of little quirks. if you're just looking for a very basic stereo, this will suit you... if it doesn't break on you.

I'm writing this review in case there is someone out there who is considering this product and wants accurate information. In my opinion, this is a bad stereo. Here is why:
-It has average sound at best. And, while most stereos allow you to change the levels to get the sound you want, this one instead offers you a wheel to switch between pre-established settings ("optimal", "jazz", "rock" and "techno"). This is one of the dumbest qualities in a stereo that I have ever seen; the thought of someone putting in a Moby cd and saying "Oh, I better change my settings to 'techno'!" makes me fall out of my chair with laughter.
-It has tons of annoying little quirks. For example, the difference between volume level 1 and volume level 2 is enormous. The result is that you can't play music late at night because volume level 2 is too loud (and volume level 1 is too quiet to even hear). Also, the cd-loading tray is really loud - not a big deal but annoying when combined with all other peccadillos.
-It's ugly, in my opinion, at least compared to other stereos.
-Mine broke within 6 months of purchase. It just stopped playing cds, telling me that all the cds I loaded were "not finalized yet", a reference to cdrs (although the cds I put in were official, studio releases).
Why did I buy it, you ask? Actually, I had another stereo which I quite liked it but it broke too. When I took it to Best Buy to get it repaired, they informed that their warranty policy was to simply replace products with brand new ones rather than fixing the one I had. That wouldn't have been a problem except that they no longer carried the model I had so I had to pick a new one. (Worst of all, if I picked a new stereo that was more expensive than my previous one, I owed Best Buy the difference, while if I picked a cheaper stereo, Best Buy did *not* owe me the difference; there were no stereos the same price). The FWC250 was the one they said was most comparable but I have not been impressed at all. I'm not a sound-snob either; I'm just looking for a decent stereo with basic functions and the ability to play music with pretty good sound. I was highly disappointed in this product.
