Pros: No limits to what it can do/control. The look can be very personal
Cons: Programing macros/commands takes time. Expensive it you don't need this much remote.
The Bottom Line: A very nice remote. It is exactly what I was looking for.
It may have saved my marriage (or at least put less strain on our relationship)

| scubarich's Full Review: Philips TSU6000 LCD Touchscreen Remote Control |
The Philips Pronto Pro is for the person who has a nice home audio/video system....... and the 6 nice remotes that come with them.
I promised my wife that when we moved and I set up our Great Room, I would get her a simple-to-use remote that controlled everything. I selected the Pronto Pro. I could have gone Black and White, but the more I looked at them, the more I wanted color. I figure, "I'll have this thing a long time and it will be worth it." Now that I have Color Icons for the Channel selectors, I'm sooooo glad I did. It looks sharp and clear. (PRO-fessional)
If you are a gadget guru, you'll love all the programming you can do with this thing. If you are afraid of computers, you might wan to reconsider. This remote has too many features that would be untapped by the wrong person. There are other programmable or learning remotes for those kinds of people. UNLESS you find someone to set it up for you.
The Pronto Pro comes with a cradle for charging, as well as PC programming. Pronto Edit is available for free download, and the Pronto edit web site has enough configurations that people have created, to keep a person busy for day. Sorting through them and extracting areas that are interesting and usable is a long, but enjoyable activity. The user group for Pronto users is helpful if you get stuck.
With the touch of 1 button, I can turn on the TV, set it to Cable, power on the tuner change input mode to Cable, turn on cable box, change channel to my favorite, and change the resolution on my TV to widescreen. WOW, imagine the remote shuffling to accomplish that task without the Pronto Pro. (This did take a while to program.)
The Pronto Pro comes with thousands of codes for all sorts of components, as well as a new download with hundreds more.
This is a whole-lotta remote! My promise is fulfilled, as I am happy to put 6 remotes is a drawer because of this purchase.
