| kristinafh's Full Review: Philosophy Cinnamon Buns Ultra Rich Shampoo, Condi... |
Preamble
As I continue to make my way through every single Philosophy product that I have ever used, please know that I am completely and totally in love with this product - Cinnamon Buns. Read on - please.
What It Is
This is a 3-in-1 product called, Cinnamon Buns, Ultra Rich Shampoo, Conditioner, and Body Wash.
It comes in a 16 ounce, clear bottle with a black, flip-top cap. The product itself smells so delicious - that to try and describe it to you would be a small crime. It has a very rich, aprhodisiac, aromatic, spicey, cinanmon scent. Not the kind that you sniff in cheap candles. oh no.... The kind that Yankee Candle *wishes* that it could replicate.
Cinnamon Buns is white, thick, and creamy. Once you get down to only having 1/3 of the product left, it's best if you keep it tilted downwards while not in use (keep lid closed of course), so that the product stays close to the opening. Otherwise, you're going to have to squeeze the heck out of the bottle next time you try to use it.
What It Isn't
Um, it does smell pretty incredible but please, use some common sense - don't ingest it. Don't use it for anything other than directed ;). (Don't say that I *didn't* warn ya!).
Directions
Apply it to the body part of your choice. Make sure said body part is wet first. Lather, rinse, repeat as often as your little heart desires.
What Philosophy Promises
* Contains vitamin a to help protect against environmental damage.
* Unique, long lasting fragrance.
* Gentle enough for everyday use.
* Works great as a bubble bath.
* Cleans and conditions in one step.
Why I Love It
Something I need to tell you up front is that most 2-in-1 and/or 3-in-1 products are met by me with skeptic. I have dry skin and dry hair. Both types of products usually leave a lot to be desired and in the case of a 3-in-1, you will never, EVER find me NOT using an additional conditioner. It's just this quirk I have.
STILL, this is one of the best 3-in-1 products that I have ever used. Ever. In times that I have been out of conditioner, I'll use the 3-in-1 and be satisfied with how my hair looks and feels. I can always count on my hair having a shine to it that for some reason - doesn't exist with the other 3-in-1 Philosophy products. Hmmmm.
More often, I use this for the shampoo and body wash functions. Even though the scent is to die for, once you rinse, it doesn't linger. This is both good and bad. I'd love the scent to stay with me all day however, I'm not sure that other people would like me smelling like a cinnamon bun - especially when they're used to me smelling all spicey - not sugary :).
I have very dry skin (especially in the winter time) however, Cinnamon Buns doesn't strip my body anymore than any other wonderful body wash.
It's just positively awful that Philosophy hasn't put out some sort of oil/lotion to accompany this 3-in-1 product. Quick. Someone give them a call for me...
At $16.00 a pop, it lasts quite awhile - depending on how obsessed you are with using it everyday (and every night).
